Duke Productions was founded in 2006 by Earl Stirling (A. Duke), Paul Addis (B. Duke), and Carolyn Anhalt (C. Duke). Their first collaboration was a one-man play about Hunter S. Thompson, Gonzo - A Brutal Chrysalis. Following the success of that show, Duke Productions was named the resident production company for the Climate Theater, San Francisco. Patricia Rawlinson (P. Duke) signed on when we opened Gonzo, and directed our most recent show, Get Lynched, in November 2007. The goal of Duke Productions is to bring mind-wrenching, soul-searing works and performances to the stage. These works are intended to destroy apathy and indifference, jam the suicidal cultural programming that saturates America, and inspire a new generation of pragmatic realists to bypass the dead hearts who are killing our dreams and promise. West Coast performances will roll out of San Francisco and north to Portland and Seattle before heading south to Los Angeles. Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, New York and Boston fill out our ambitions for crossing the Mississippi and inflicting our mindworks on the flipside of the Rockies. We welcome co-collaborators and other companies who would like to bring their genius, passion, and vision to the Climate Theater. And if you're reading this, thinking "Shit, man, we should get these motherfuckers' stuff on our stage ASAP," then let's make it happen. We travel light, well, and often. With that, have a look around the site and then get back to making your own dreams the reality where you live. |
